“Përmbledhësi arkeologjik shqiptar do të jetë një botim serie me emrin Iliria, mbasi Shqipëria bën pjesë në trevën ku banuan ‘ilirët e mirëfilltë’” (shënim hyrës redaksional të numrit të parë të revistës Iliria).

Revista Iliria është periodik shkencor i Institutit të Arkeologjisë, në të cilin pasqyrohen rezultatet më të reja të studimeve e kërkimeve arkeologjike në territorin shqiptar. Revista Iliria ka shërbyer si pasqyrë e mendimit arkeologjik shqiptar, që në fillimet e botimit të saj në vitin 1971.

Në revistën Iliria botohen shkrime të kërkuesve shkencorë, anëtarë të Institutit të Arkeologjisë dhe bashkëpunëtorëve të jashtëm (kombëtarë dhe ndërkombëtarë), me të cilët Instituti kryen projekte të përbashkëta gërmimi dhe studimi. Artikujt, studime të mirëfillta autentike shkencore, paraqesin rezultatet e kërkimeve më të reja në fushën e arkeologjisë shqiptare, duke shprehur qëndrime analitike dhe sintetike mbi arkeologjinë dhe historinë e lashtë shqiptare.

Në vitin 1983, revista Iliria u vlerësua nga Akademia Ndërkombëtare e Lutèce, Francë, me Medaljen e Artë.

Revista Iliria numëron mbi 50 volume ku pasqyrohen kërkimet arkeologjike nga prehistoria, antikiteti dhe antikiteti i vonë e mesjeta, rreth tematikave të ndryshme të arkeologjisë shqiptare si pjesë e pandarë e asaj mesdhetare.

Të gjitha kontributet në revistën Iliria shoqërohen nga një përmbledhje në gjuhë të huaj (angleze, frënge ose italiane), duke e ndërkombëtarizuar këtë botim, i cili zë një vend të rëndësishëm në bibliotekat arkeologjike më në zë të Evropës.

Që prej vitit 2015, tërësia e revistës Iliria është e konsultueshme online në website-n e Persee.fr (https://www.persee.fr/collection/iliri), duke u bërë pjesë e koleksioneve mbi arkeologjinë, historinë, antropologjinë, etj, që prozon ky organizëm shkencor prestigjioz.

“The Albanian archaeological journal will be a periodic publication called Iliria, as Albania is part of the area inhabited by the ‘ Illyrians proprie dicti'” (editorial introductory note to the first issue of Iliria magazine).

The journal Iliria is a scientific periodical of the Institute of Archeology, which reflects the latest results of studies and archaeological research in the Albanian territory. Iliria Journal has served as a mirror of Albanian archeological thought, since the beginning of its publication in 1971.

The journal Iliria publishes articles by researchers, members of the Institute of Archeology and foreign collaborators (national and international), with whom the Institute conducts joint excavation and study projects. The articles, authentic scientific studies, present the results of the latest research in the field of Albanian archeology, expressing analytical and synthetic approaches on ancient Albanian archeology and history.

The Gold Medal by the Lutèce International Academy, France, in 1983, was awarded to the Iliria journal.

The journal Iliria counts over 50 volumes covering archaeological research from prehistory, antiquity, late antiquity and medieval period, on various topics of Albanian archeology as an integral part of the Mediterranean archaeology.

All articles of Iliria journal (published in Albanian) are accompanied by a summary in foreign languages (English, French or Italian), internationalizing this publication, which occupies an important place in the most prominent archeological libraries in Europe.

Since 2015, the journal Iliria is consultable online on the website of Persee.fr (https://www.persee.fr/collection/iliri), becoming part of the collections on archeology, history, anthropology, etc., which propose this prestigious scientific organism.
